Why should you choose OCA?
At OCA, we create a space where you feel welcomed and supported, and where your talents are truly valued. Our goal is to uplift Pasifika and help you become a future industry leader.
Through hands-on training, we give you the skills and confidence to succeed in your career. With the right support and guidance, we’ll make sure you’re set up to thrive – not just at work, but in life.
The Whānau Ora Approach
The Whānau Ora approach is all about taking care of both you and your family. As a Pasifika organisation, we understand the unique challenges Pasifika in Aotearoa New Zealand face in education and employment. Many of our students have struggled to do well in traditional NZ schools, so we have developed a uniquely Pasifika approach to student support.
Our tutors and navigators will work with you and your whānau to create a plan that will help you develop self-confidence, self-esteem and self-management skills.
Whether you need additional support with medical care, mental health, addiction or other challenges that might affect you and your whānau, we’ll work with our partners to get you what you need.
By getting this support, you’ll be able to focus on your studies.
We’re able to provide this help through Pasifika Futures (New Zealand’s Whānau Ora commissioning agency for Pasifika families) and OCA’s parent company, The Fono (New Zealand’s largest Pasifika NGO).
Support includes:
